內(nèi)容簡介Refractories for Metallurgy - was the headline of the 55th International Colloquium on Refractories, which was held on 19-20 September 2012 in Aachen/DE. 3 plenary and 49 technical presentations, 530 participants from 38 countries all over the world, 25 exhibition stands and the presentation of the Gustav Eirich Award to three young scientists are in a nutshell the key data of the event. A particular focus was the opportunity to present technological developments and their potential synergies with the refractories technology. The technical sessions in Aachen covered the topics pig iron, unshaped products, steel, testing, steelcasting and foundry. A special session on "raw materials" was arranged in partnership with the publication Industrial Minerals followed by a panell discussion with all speakers moderated by Mike O’'Driscoll/Global Head of Research, Industrial Minerals/GB. For the first time 8 companies (Almatis, Eirich, Chem. Fabrik Budenheim, Nabaltec, Purmetall, REFKO, Veico- all from Germany - and /W//AT) participated in a new "industrial session" to present their market activities.
