內容簡介The lifetime of a glass melting tank is one of the most important cost factors for the production of glass. Glass tank reinforcements contribute to lengthening the tank campaign significantly, and therefore have a decisive influence on how economical the glass melting equipment is. The function of glass tank reinforcements is the protection of highly loaded areas in the glass tank. Molybdenum has a significantly higher corrosion resistance against glass melts than even high-performance refractories such as ASZ-bricks. If the bricks are covered by a protective layer of molybdenum, the corrosion rate can be reduced significantly in critical areas such as the bubbler, wall, doghouse or throat. The basic idea of such a protection method is not new, but its implementation has only recently become possible thanks to PLANSEE's patented SIBOR-coating.
