As a result of an investigation on sintering of firebricks and alumina ceramics using a microwave heating furnace, it was confirmed that the same sintering performance as the traditional method was obtained in a shorter heating time. The authors would like to make further fforts to establish the optimal sintering conditions utilizing the advantages of the microwave heating system.
