內(nèi)容簡(jiǎn)介MgO-C brick has generally been manufactured using a uniaxial forming machine such as a friction press or a hydraulic press. It is well known that the characteristics of the brick have an orientation dependence caused by the orienting property of graphite~(1)). Furthermore, it has been reported that the molding method produces a considerable difference in the orientation dependence of the brick strength~(2)).Taking note of the graphite orientation, an experiment was carried out to compare the mechanical properties of a body formed by a friction press (hereafter referred to as FP) and a cold isostatic press (CIP). The orientation dependence was related to the change in the graphite quantity and grain size. This paper reports the results of the experiment.
