內容簡介Conventionally, the simple addition of third components as Si, Al, etc. has been the general practice to make composite refractories. In the present study, a new method for preparing such reaction systems as ①BCxN-Si->BN-xSiC, and②3 BCxN + xAl_2O_3 + xN_2->3 BN + 2 xAlN + 3 xCO, together with AlN + Al_2O_3-AlON (Al_3O_3N) has been investigated in two kinds of sintering synthesis technology for application to refractories of Al_2O_3-C system. As a result, composite refractories of the Al_2 O_3-C-BN-SiC system and the Al_2O_3-C-BN-AlON system have been successfully synthesized. Especially, composite refractories of Al_2O_3-C-BN-SiC system (Al_2O_3-C-BCN-Si system before firing) showed excellent overall properties in various kinds of comparison tests. These improvements were derived from sintering effects accompanied by synthesis reactions, together with minimization of pore size and the discontinuity and diversification of pores. The properties of Al_2O_3-C-BN-SiC system refractories were superior to both composite refractories of the Al_2O_3-C-BN-AlON system and refractories obtained by the conventional method of simple addition of the third components. From viewpoint of the materials for use, this newly developed composite refractory is considered advantageous for refining and casting of steel. Moreover, the present study has been carried out with use of 10 percent graphite. However, lower graphite content is considered possible as well, since lower carbon refractories are desired in accordance with the demand for higher quality steel.
