內容簡介Since 1983, molten iron pretreatment (hereafter abbreviated ORP) has been done in torpedo cars (hereafter abbreviated TPC), at the Kimitsu Steel Works; the wear of the chamotte refractory brick which were used initially, was high, resulting in poor refractory life. To improve the refractory life, Al_2O_3-SiC-C brick were developed, and based on these brick, which were improved by means of glassy and MgO additions, the refractory durability was improved, and the TPC lining life was prolonged. Concerning the TPC lining repair procedure, the automated wet gunning process of shotcreting was introduced in 1998, after trials of the gunning method and vibration trowelling. Thereafter, the ORP treatment was changed to the converter at Kimitsu Steel Works. This paper reviews the refractory materials developed in the course of trials and the transition of installation procedures, and the future trend of TPC refractories, and repair methods, were discussed.
