內容簡介Most of the coke ovens in Japan have been in operation for more than 30 years and they are badly damaged at the wall of the coke chamber and oven front. Recently, there is planning to replace the superannuated ovens with new ones. On the other hand, it is important task to extend the life of existing ovens by repairs. Small fall-out of the wall can be repaired by spray gunning or flame gunning. However, when large fall-out or cracks occur, we have to put new bricks in the wall with hot working. We have developed special silica bricks for coke oven hot repair. The present paper reports the characteristics of the bricks and results of their application.
