內容簡介Cement rotary kilns in Japan play an extraordinary role in building the resource recycling society by contributing to the community through safe processes for treatment and recycling of massive amounts of industrial wastes. In addition, according to our company's survey, the cement industry in Japan has completed installation of entirely chrome-free lining systems in about 80 percent of the kilns in Japan as of the end of March 2006. This is the result of serious efforts to convert to the use of chrome-free systems from the magnesia-chrome bricks that had been used for a long time in the burning zones of the kilns. On the other hand, with the treatment of massive amounts of industrial wastes, the thickness and the range of cement coating layers formed on the surface of the lining refractories in the kiln burning zone have been falling. Therefore, the thermo-mechanical load on the refractories in regions outside the coating zone and on the kiln shell has been increasing year after year.
