內(nèi)容簡(jiǎn)介A new magnesia-spinel brick with thermal conductivity as low as that of magnesia-chrome brick, about 3.0 Wm~(-1)K~(-1), was developed. It was shown that the developed brick has performance characteristics with regard to corrosion resistance and spalling resistance that are equivalent or better that the brick currently used for the burning zone of cement rotary kilns. It was possible to conclude that following two effects contributed to this low thermal conductivity: One is the use of a special magnesia clinker that has a grain-boundary phase that prevents direct contact between periclase particles and the other is a phonon scattering effect due to an additive that enhances the formation of fine micro-cracks.
