內(nèi)容簡(jiǎn)介My name is Hiroyuki Fukuyama, who has fulfilled a role of the chairman of the editorial committee of the bulletin of the TARJ since May, 2008. I would like to express the implications with refractory materials combined with a self-introduction taking this opportunity. After obtaining a degree at the Nagoya University due to the thesis on a thermodynamics research on copper refining, I had an opportunity of going abroad to study in the Professor Toguri's laboratory of the University of Toronto in Canada, where I had researched about the wettability and the interfacial reactions between refractories and molten slag first time ever. Because Toguri laboratory received a lot of visitors from Japan at that time, I had good fortune of meeting with many eminent professors in the lighthearted mood whom I couldn't become acquainted with in Japan. Among them, emeritus professor of the Tohoku University Dr. Tasuku Fuwa sent me a book titled "Refractories for ironmaking and steelmaking: the documents of challenges to high temperature" written by Dr. Kiyoshi Sugita, purposely from Japan as the result of his knowing about my specialty on refractories.
