內容簡介The bio-integration and biocompatibility of metal bone implants is improved by porous surface topography and bio-ceramic layers.[1,2] Implant surface material bioactivity affects the rate and quality of new cell formation and determines the adsorption, attachment, and alignment of molecules both in-vivo and in-vitro.[3] Biocompatibility refers to the long-term durability, and the rate and quality of bone growth while maintaining the mechanical properties of the implant.[4] In practice, sandblasting is used to roughen the metal surface and plasma spraying to deposit an oxide layer.[5,6] Other techniques for bio-active oxide layer deposition have been investigated, including sol-gel,[7] electrophoretic deposition,[8] and CVD.[9]
