內容簡介In conjunction with the increasing development of nano-technology, there has been active and enthusiastic promotion of R&D on nano-parficles. To make progress in the refractories industry, it is considered essential to introduce new technology involving nano-materials, so the application of nano particles is regarded as a very interesting and promising field of research. A wide variety of nano particles are available, and the authors would like to review the research on carbon nano particles with regard to their application for advancing the technology of industrial refractory products. The authors have made studies on the development of nano-tech.refractories, as indicated by our published papers on the application of nano particles. As a definition of nano particles in regard with those personnel and associations like OECD and others, a nano particle is defined as follows - a solid material or aggregate with size smaller than 1 - 100 nm in one dimension and in addition has to equip with a lengthwise distribution of less than 100 nm. In this paper, roughly speaking, nano particles are considered to be less than 100nm in size. Currently, the nano particles of carbonaceous type include such materials as carbon black, fullerenes, carbon nano-tubes, and nano-diamond. Other carbon materials near to this definition, and can be included, are carbon nano fiber and finely pulverized graphite. Carbon black, a fine carbonaceous powder, is a traditionally utilized material and recently such nano- carbon materials as hybrid graphite black (HGB), carbon nano Onion and Bucky diamond are included in this category.
