內容簡介Although tap hole mix that includes large amounts of Si3N4 is heavily corroded by metal, remarkable improvement was achieved by adding Al-containing components such as Al powder or Al_2O_3 powder. Following observations of the microstructure after corrosion tests, the improvement in corrosion resistance was discussed as follows. Si_3N_4 reacts with the surrounding matrix oxide and diffuses into the matrix followed by formation of a Si-O-N glassy phase. The Si-Al-O-N glassy phase formation is facilitated by the addition of Al-containing components resulting in improvement of the metal corrosion resistance. Furthermore, the influence of the corrosion characteristics of the tap hole mix, i.e. corroded only by metal or only by slag, on the slag level in the blast furnace and the tapping time were examined by mathematical calculation, and essentially the same results were obtained for both cases. Consequently, it is concluded that application of tap hole mix with high metal corrosion resistance is effective.
